After Your initial Video consultation with our admin team where we will review your family’s postpartum support needs we will start the search process! 

1.  Start the Search

The first step is to complete the agency placement contract and pay the $500 search fee. Once this is done, we will begin the search for your family’s postpartum care professional. We are committed to finding the best match for your family. Initially, we will provide three candidate profiles. Each candidate will have passed a national background check, had 2-3 professional references, and certifications verified before being introduced to your family.

2. Interview Process

Once you have selected one or two pre-vetted candidates, we will assist you in scheduling a video interview. Use this time to get to know each candidate personally and ensure your goals align.

3. Select Your Postpartum Professional

After selecting your candidate, both you and your postpartum professional will need to sign a working agreement detailing the postpartum doula's schedule, responsibilities, and family expectations. Once the agreement is signed by both parties, the agency placement fee will be due. The agency placement fee is 15-20% of your total contract, depending on the length agreed upon with your selected postpartum professional.

4. Here Comes Baby

We recommend that you and your postpartum professional plan to build a 1-2 week buffer before and after your target due date, unless previously discussed. If your baby hasn't arrived yet, this is also a great time to build the rest of your support system. We are here to help your family navigate this transition. What type of postpartum care professional do I need?

There are many names, titles, and even responsibilities that come with caring for new parents and babies. The terms Baby Nurse, Night Nurse and even Maternity Nurse have been replaced with Newborn Care Specialist, Postpartum doula, different variations of nannies and even sleep consultants. The term nurse should only be used to reference someone who is actually a licensed nurse! How much should I expect to pay my night nurse/postpartum doula/ newborn care specialist?

The average rate nationally for postpartum care professionals typically ranges anywhere from $40-50/hr. The majority of our licensed registered nurses rates start around $65-70/hr. We value experience and professional certifications for candidates to work with our Agency. Our candidates are either Certified Newborn Care Specialists, Certified Postpartum Doulas, Licensed Registered Nurses, Certified Sleep consultants, Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultants, Licensed Mental health providers and more. Every single one of our candidates also have at least 2-3 years of experience in their specialty. While the agency does not set our professional’s rates we do offer market research to parents and professionals for the best fit. The lion share of our in-home postpartum support professionals start around $40/hr. 

How long does it take to build my support team? 

The initial inquiry call to the contract signing between you and your professional can take anywhere from 5 business days to 3 weeks. Our goal is to find you the best support as soon as possible but our biggest goal is to help facilitate finding the BEST match for your family.

Do you offer emergency care for high risk families (families of high order multiples, families struggling with mental health emergencies, Low income families)?

If no one on our team can offer support we have a very long list of resources to share if needed! 3% of all of Postpartum Serenity Concierge’s income is dedicated to supporting local in need families and nonprofits that support families.
